New life in an old farm house ruin. The ruin sits in a slope planted with olive trees in the Basilicata region in southern Italy. The proposed country house use the same footprint as the old buidling with the addition of an atelier/guest room half a level up. Re use of the old structure and building materials such as roof tiles is standard practice in the area.
A roof covered patio facing west and south wraps around the front of the building. The thick columns and wood trellis protect from the sun and frame the view.
